Valencia 905

Candidate for Governor

I am honored to present myself as a candidate from Valencia for the Quadomain I and IV Board of Governors. I am deeply invested in the well-being and prosperity of our community.

As a long-time owner and now permanent resident of Quadomain, I have witnessed the evolution of our community and the challenges we face. My professional background in information technology, consulting, and project management has equipped me with the skills to navigate complex issues, build effective teams, work within budgets, and create working solutions. Managing large multi-year projects with diverse clients and implementation teams has taught me that open communication and diligent leadership are critical to success.

My top priority is to promote unity and pride among us, fostering a community where everyone feels heard, respected, and valued. I am eager to use my professional skills and experience to work with the board and everyone in our community on the priorities of the QuadProTeam: financial diligence, updated by-laws, improved communication, empowered owners, project completion, and financial reengineering.

Education

  • Master of Science in Computer Science, University of Tennessee 1980
  • Bachelor of Arts, Religious Studies, University of Tennessee, 1975

Professional Highlights

  • I started my career as a computer programmer at Bell Laboratories in New Jersey, which became Bell Communications Research after the 1985 AT&T divestiture. Promoted to District Manager, I built and led teams focused on Technology Transfer and Data Architecture.
  • I entered the consulting arena, first with CAP Gemini, then as a Manager and Senior Manager with Deloitte Consulting. There I worked in the Financial Services Sector before finding my niche in the Public Sector, managing multiple projects, including major tax system designs and implementations for the States of New Jersey and New York.
  • I moved on to a boutique consulting firm, Delta Corporate Services, consulting for a variety of clients. I obtained a certification in information security to support the firm’s work for the General Services Administration of the federal government.
  • I changed direction to join LexisNexis / Martindale-Hubbell, which owns and runs the lawyers.com website. There I managed day-to-day operations of legacy back office systems while managing the implementation of strategic replacement systems, including Salesforce.com.
  • Finally, I joined Blackbaud, a software company supporting non-profit companies, to manage a multi-year engagement with  Memorial Sloan Kettering to implement a Client Relationship Management system that supports the fund-raising arm of the hospital.
  • In retirement, I teach professional development seminars for graduate students at Columbia University: one covers “The Deep Secrets of Project Management,” and another, “Consulting 101,” introduces the life of consulting and provides interviewing and career survival advice.
